NCIS stands for Naval Criminal Investigative Service. It is an interesting show on television that looks at different CSI type situations but from a navy standpoint. In many cases, the crimes are worse, and the situations are even more difficult and complicated.

NCIS headquarters are located in Washington, D.C., in this series and focuses on how a group of unique but highly trained individuals respond to difficult situations. It is also the primary law enforcement and counter-intelligence arm of the US Navy. The main characters are Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs (the head of the team, played by Mark Harmon), Senior Field Agent and Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo (played by Michael Weatherly), Special Agent Timothy McGee (played by Sean Murray), Special Agent Kate Todd (during the earlier seasons, played by Sasha Alexander), and Mossad Liaison Officer Ziva David (in the later seasons, played by Cote de Pablo). The office team include Chief Medical Examiner Donald “Ducky” Mallard (played by David McCallum), Forensic Specialist Abby Sciuto (played by Pauley Perrette), and Assistant Medical Examiner Jimmy Palmer (played by Brian Dietzen).
